Adoption is a lifelong journey.  Whether you are just beginning your journey or are well on your way, the GFA is made up of families like yours.  Each Gladney family has a unique adoption story.  In the GFA they find a place to share their story, their struggles and their joy.  We invite you to join us, and share your experience as we share ours.

Someone Who Understands

Couples waiting to experience the joy of adoption have the opportunity to meet with families who have shared similar hopes and dreams, and have experienced this joy firsthand.  Gladney Family Associations around the country host:

• Casual social events for prospective adoptive families
• Monthly Meet & Greets to share experiences with other adoptive families

Gladney families who have been through the process of adoption are a great source of encouragement and support for waiting families.  

From diapers to dating, terrible twos to treacherous teens, parenting is filled with ups and downs.  Gladney families do not walk this path alone.  As members of the GFA they have the support of others who share similar life experiences, plus access to parenting seminars and age-based GFA social events for children. 

Just Like Me

GFA events are a place to build community, strengthen connections and just have fun.  It is Gladney's goals that each family is enriched by the Gladney Family Associations and their services and that through the GFAs they reap the benefits of Family for Life.

One of the best things about being part of the GFA is the opportunity for your children to get to know other adopted children.  Many children enjoy the special camaraderie that comes from spending time with children adopted from the same program, so GFAs host a variety of events that bring together families from the same program, as well as mixers for families from all of Gladney's different programs.

Ambassadors for Life

Many Gladney families have told us they are Ambassadors for Life.  Adoption has had such a life changing impact for them that they want to share their journey and the joys of adoption with others through GFA events and activities, but also by promoting domestic and international adoption in their communities.  Many families also participate in fundraising events that help Gladney fulfill its mission of Creating Bright Futures Around the World.
